External auditors have examined Deutsche Telekom's compliance management and again confirmed that Telekom is well positioned against corruption.
Deutsche Telekom’s Compliance Management System is audited externally with a focus on anti-corruption on a regular basis. This enables us to ensure that we systematically counteract risks and have established effective processes.
Therefore, Deutsche Telekom has been audited regularly according to the Assurance Standard 980 of the Institute of Public Auditors in Germany (IDW PS 980), with a focus on prevention of corruption.
Moreover, Deutsche Telekom AG is one of the first companies worldwide, who has already successfully gone through an ISO Standard 37001 certification.
Assurance Standard 980, delineated area anti-corruption
In 2024, Deutsche Telekom AG as well as eight subsidiaries in Germany were audited by independent public auditors. As a result, the auditors confirmed the compliance management system of all audited companies to be appropriate and effective - an important basis for secure and sustainable business partnerships.
Focus of the audit were processes of the compliance organization as well as processes of areas exposed to a potential risk of corruption (e. g., procurement, sales, events, sponsoring, donations, human resources, mergers & acquisitions).

In 2024, a new review of the effectiveness of the compliance management system will start. In a first step, Deutsche Telekom AG as well as German subsidiaries selected in a risk-oriented manner are audited. Selected foreign subsidiaries will then be audited in 2025.
Already in 2013, 2016/2017 and 2020/2021 auditors confirmed that in accordance with assurance standard 980 the compliance management system of Deutsche Telekom AG and selected national and international subsidiaries is well positioned to contain corruption risks in the company.
Certification according to ISO 37001 (Anti-Bribery Management Systems)
The ISO Standard 37001 regarding Anti-Bribery-Management-Systems was introduced in October 2016. Deutsche Telekom AG is one of the first companies world-wide to have been successfully certified in 2017.
